Học tiếng Anh giao tiếp là cả một quá trình gian khổ cần kết hợp giữa các phương pháp khác nhau. Ngoài ra việc còn cần thêm các tài liệu, giáo trình tốt để có thể tự học tại nhà. Tuy nhiên, trong nhiều hoàn cảnh thì ngoài việc tự học và tuân thủ nguyên tắc học thì bạn nên đến trung tâm để có 1 lần được làm theo đúng bài bản.

Có những bạn luôn đặt mục tiêu là một ngày phải học thuộc từ 10 -15 từ mới và ngày mai lại quên ngay. Hoặc là bằng cách học tiếng Anh giao tiếp bắt đầu bằng một từ nào đó, ví dụ học từ “talk” thì liệt kê ra tất cả cách sử dụng của từ đó?. Học như vậy đến khi giao tiếp bạn phải “lục lọi” tất cả những từ mà mình đã học và lắp ghép lại từng câu với nhau và xem xét xem nó có thể dùng trong trường hợp này không.

Bạn sẽ nói lập bập, ngắt quảng và chỉ sau một lúc là sẽ bối rối. Thay vào đó, hãy học các bài học tiếng Anh giao tiếp cơ bản và các từ, cụm từ gắn với ngữ cảnh đó. Khi gặp tình huống tương tự bạn đã có sẵn tiếng Anh phù hợp để “bật” ngay ra rồi, thay vì phải nghĩ lâu. Nếu bạn quan niệm học cho xong, cho biết thì đó là một quan niệm sai lầm, và nó sẽ chẳng mang lại cho bạn kết quả gì đâu. Bạn phải biết cách vận dụng vào hoàn cảnh giao tiếp.

Tại sao, chỉ cần 3000 từ vựng tiếng Anh cơ bản là có thể nói tiếng Anh dễ dàng, nhưng trên thực tế có nhiều bạn có rất nhiều vốn từ vựng tiếng anh, thậm chí lên đến 5000 – 6000 từ nhưng vẫn không thể giao tiếp được, lý do là các bạn chỉ học để đó và không bao giờ vận dụng. Vì thế vấn đề không phải là học nhiều, mà là sử dụng được tất cả những gì bạn đã học.

Cách học tiếng Anh giao tiếp tức là rèn luyện kỹ năng nghe, nói. Tuy nhiên, hai kỹ năng này bạn phải được kết hợp chặt chẽ với nhau. Nếu một người chỉ có rèn luyện kỹ năng nghe, thì nó chỉ tăng khả năng của bạn là hiểu người khác nói gì chứ không thể nói được những điều mà mình muốn đối đáp lại, hoặc ngược lại nếu một người nào đó chỉ có rèn luyện kỹ nói, thì quá trình trao đổi với người khác sẽ rất khó khăn vì không nghe được họ nói gì, như vậy sẽ biết phải trả lời như thế nào.

Chính vì vậy, để có thể giao tiếp tốt thì bạn phải rèn luyện kết hợp cả hai kỹ năng này, tốt nhất là hãy cố gắng để luyện tập tiếng Anh giao tiếp với người thật, tốt nhất là với người nước ngoài, hoặc những người giỏi tiếng Anh hơn bạn, hoặc cùng lắm thì với bạn bè cũng được. Đừng tập một mình!
